All of our team members receive wages that significantly exceed minimum wage requirements in New Mexico. Addressing Mischaracterizations About Our Tip Practices
I must directly address the unfounded claim that Oasis engaged in "top to bottom skimming of tips" or "wage theft." These characterizations are categorically false and misrepresent our practices.
At no point did anyone at corporate management levels participate in tip pools. Our tip distribution practices were implemented at the store level and involved only staff who worked directly with customers during their shifts. Furthermore, all of our employees received full wages well above minimum wage requirements, separate from and in addition to any tips.
The mischaracterization of our practices as a deliberate scheme to deprive employees of their rightful compensation is both inaccurate and unfair, particularly when similar industry-wide compliance questions have affected numerous cannabis retailers adjusting to evolving regulations.
